Sumitomo Mitsui Auto Leasing & Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd. Upholds CSR Commitment by Donating Recyclables and Usable Items to the Mirror Foundation
On Friday, May 23, 2025, Sumitomo Mitsui Auto Leasing & Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd. conducted a corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity by delivering recyclable waste, sorted by employees at the company's head office, to the “Re-Life Recycle” project. Additionally, clothing and gently used household items were donated to the “Sharing for Change” project, both of which are operated by the Mirror Foundation.
This activity not only involved the donation of goods but also allowed employees to actively participate in waste sorting alongside elderly people involved in the Re-Life Recycle project. The initiative aims to support underprivileged seniors by providing them with employment, a social network, and appropriate care. Due to their declining physical strength, many elderly participants are limited to light-duty tasks, making waste sorting a suitable job that helps generate income. Once sorted, the recyclable materials are sold to recycling facilities, and the proceeds are used to fund wages and welfare benefits for the senior participants.
In parallel, the “Sharing for Change” project accepts donations of clothing, electrical appliances, and various usable items. A portion of the donated goods is distributed directly to those in need, while the remainder is sold at the “Sharing” shop at affordable prices. The income generated supports the Mirror Foundation's operations and social missions.
This recent visit and donation to both of the Mirror Foundation's projects emphasized the importance of recycling and sharing. These simple yet impactful actions not only help reduce pollution and waste but also improve the quality of life and boost the morale of disadvantaged groups in our society.
“Because recycling and sharing not only contribute to creating a better world, but also bring hope and dignity to those who need it most.”
